The first of 3 fly-on-the-wall documentaries showing real family mediations by NFM mediators will be shown on Tuesday 21 June at 9.00 pm on BBC 2.

This filming should not be underestimated. It is a major achievement as we know how very difficult it is to persuade mediators and clients to speak to the media, let alone appear on camera.

It was some brave souls from National Family Mediation who took the plunge and agreed to be filmed. Their generous hearted clients gave the documentary team access to their lives and the films are primarily about their stories. The mediators who appear in the films have apparently learnt things about clients which are usually hidden from us – so it has been a revelation to the mediators too.
